Access Art Therapy
Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that integrates talk-based therapy with the use of art materials to explore personal histories, thoughts and feelings, and issues relating to identity, self-expression, and hopes for the future. Many people find it challenging to put into words what has happened to them, what they want, and their inner experiences, but through the creative use of colours, shapes, symbols, and stories they can find meaningful ways to express themselves with their art therapist and to find ways to heal and grow.
Art Therapy is suitable for anyone, including children, teens, adults, and seniors, and is an effective form of healing for most mental health issues (including trauma), and for people wanting to find a way forward. If you are meeting with your art therapist in person at KATI, all art supplies will be provided. If you are working with your art therapist virtually, they will be able to suggest some easily accessible and low-cost art materials to help you begin your journey. For online sessions, you will need a device such as a phone, tablet or laptop that has a camera.
