From Classroom to Conference: Sharing My KATI Research at CATA 2025

Presenting my research at the 2025 CATA Conference, held in partnership with OEATA, was both a meaningful and rewarding experience. It was an honour to share my student research and co-facilitate a workshop alongside fellow KATI graduate Rachel Krause. The weekend was filled with learning, art making, and relationship building — we left feeling inspired and ready to integrate what we’d learned into our own practice. Being surrounded by other art and expressive arts therapists was incredibly affirming and energizing, sparking ideas for future collaboration, research, and new ways of practicing art therapy. Bringing my research from KATI into the conference felt like a natural bridge between my studies and professional practice, and it continues to shape how I work. I returned from the conference feeling grounded, encouraged, and excited to keep expanding and sharing arts-based research.
