Where Land Meets Art: Beginning the Earth Semester

KATI Academic Director Nicole Le Bihan

Dear KATI Community,

The faculty are excited to welcome all students into the 2025-2026 school year. We are starting in the Earth Semester, so we will be connecting to the land here in Nelson and across Turtle Island, both metaphorically in the art and through various land-based art experientials. At this time, I feel grounded by the inner knowing that every year, a new cohort of students land in the KATI program with passion for the healing power of creativity, care for the earth and a deep commitment to being in service of others. It's a tremendous gift to be a part of a deeply meaningful transformational educational program.

Between our campus and online cohorts, we have over 50 students enrolled, including first years, second years and a few third years wrapping up their research projects and clinical placements. As Academic Director, I am pleased to be working alongside our new Supervision Chair, Keith Thurlow-Bishop. Together, we will be supporting the faculty and supervision team throughout the year, as they mentor, guide and usher another cohort of emerging art therapists into the profession.

Respectfully,

Nicole Le Bihan, Academic Director
