Meeting at the Crossbones: A Personal Case Study on the Intersection of Chronic Pain/Illness and Queerness
Shay is a student at Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, completing their diploma in art therapy studies. This book is a culmination of their personal capstone thesis project. Shay explores their queer identity and chronic pain/illness through art and poetry to find where these identities connect and are separate like a crossroads. They found that while the identities are separate the pain of unacceptance as a queer person lead to holding big emotions within their body that may have contributed to chronic pain and illness.
