Soul Connection

Soul Connection is a humble guidebook created to support the continual process of healing and transformation. It began by exploring a burning curiosity the author had. How can a human being who works in the helping or healing profession do this work whole heartedly and sustainably? What would or does it look like if the person helping others was also helping themselves? Reflecting on her own personal journey a theme began to emerge. Perhaps taking responsibility of oneself, having an evolving connection to one’s own soul and doing one’s own inner work could allow for more capacity within oneself. Perhaps allowing for deeper healing and a greater capacity to hold a loving, unconditional space for people to walk through their own traumas and pain. Integrating the two worlds of art therapy and spirituality, Carla continues to explore this curiosity through research in her capstone project. Carla explores what these two worlds have to say about trauma, the soul, and how the art therapy and spiritual practices can allow for healing on deep levels. In this book Carla created 52 invitations that attempt to merge spiritual teachings, art therapy practices and techniques to provide an opportunity for people working in a helping profession to explore their own soul work. Offering a potential way to create or carve out a parallel process that would allow for someone to tend to themselves while simultaneously working in a helping profession.
